Big Gap Jump

A few Weeks ago, whilst on the Trampa Euro Tour, we visited Winterberg Mountainboard Park for a competition. We discovered that they had built a new massive jump, a 9ft high take off, 15ft high landing, and a 45ft gap from the takeoff to landing.
When we visited last time the weather was not up to scratch adn we were unable to get the speed to do the jump, so no attempts were made.
However myself and Fellow team mate, James sleigh were determined to Return to conquor the beast.

When we arrived we noticed that the landing and run in and suffered quite a lot of Rain damage, so after several hours raking, and shoveling the jump was preped and ready to go. The conditions at this point of time were absolutely perfect... no wind.. no clouds, and perfectly dry ground

It was time to hit the beast.

Val D'Sir - France

The Team Trampa Tour continues deep into the French Alps.

We have been on the road for a little over a week, and have now reached Val D'sir in France. The drive into Val D'sir was probably the most scenic drive of my life. The very windey mountain pass roads, beautiful Mountains, patches of snow beside the road (depsite the fact that it is summer and around 25 degrees).
The team was lucky enough to stay in an appartment right in the center of the town centre offering us a great base to go out and explore what was rideable within this area. Immediately we explored the streets, and found some great roads to bomb.

During our stay we also explored a BMX/Skatepark facility which was loads of fun, and with the scenic background provided us the perfect canvas for some spectacular pictures and footage.

On our last day we spent 6 euro on a one way lift pass to the top of one of the piests, to tackle on a roughly planned out blue grade ski run. The run took us around 2 hours to complete with an awesome final section of mountainbike trails and mowed grass in amongst bull paddocks.

TRAMPA EURO TOUR 2009

2,500 miles, 7 Countries, 2 pimpin vans, 2 dirtbikes, 10 rowdy mountainboarders, and the TRAMPA BOARDS euro tour was away, very early on a Wednesday Morning.

Our First Desitination was Bardonecchia in Italy. This town was the host country for the 2006 Winter Olympics, however this year it was the "Hitext European Downhill Mountainboarding Championships"

The whole team was staying in some pretty flash accomadation which was previously the Olympic village in 2006, which was a great to rest our brusied bodies from the burley track almost 3km's long.

The track was also very fast and technical with huge rocks, off camber corners and a huge gravel road straight down to the finish line.

The weekend provided us with plenty of thrills, spills and mad partys. Thanks to all the Italians for looking after us so well!

Season Opener

The weekend started with a mission to heathrow airport very early on friday morning, and i couldnt have picked a better morning to get up early. Not a cloud in the sky, and even at 5am the temperature was around 17 degrees ro so. On the way back from the airport i picked up Sam Nicholas, one of my fellow trampa team riders.

We were headed for Hales SuperBole, a mountainboarding park up near Chester. Superbole were hosting the 'season opener' A competition to mark the start of the mountainboarding season over this side of the world. On the cards for the weekend was a slopestyle comp, Saturday night Jib session under floodlights, and the big air on the Sunday.

Unfortunately i managed to sprain my wrist on my 10th run of the day so decided to pull out of competition, Just to be on the safe side. However Sam managed to go on and represent by winning the big air with some hugh Tweaked out FS rodeo's.

Heres some pics:

How to waste 2 days of your life.

Yesterday, it was back over to the UK for another summer of mountainboarding goodness. I set off from Ballarat at around 9:30am and arrived at Melbourne international airport at 11, ready for my 1:55 flight.
After some fairwells i was off on my 5 month journey.
The flight was a 24hr total flight, with a 3 hour stopover in bangkok. Finally, on arrival to london, i was kept in london passport Control, and threatened to be sent back home for 8 hours! The theory behind this was that if i was comming over, with the purpose of mountainboarding, i should have acquired a sports visa.
In the end i was finally given the all clear to proceed through to the UK where ted from Trampa was waiting for me to take me up to Nottinghsam, where i will be staying.

Roof Drop

A short video of a roof drop i noticed beside the Monash freeway in Melbourne. The Roof belongs to the clubhouse of a baseball team around the Kooyong area. Not a huge drop, but the roofs surface was difficult to ride because there were deep grooves cut in that weren't quite wide enough for my wheels, these grooves were constantly moving my board a few inches left to right all the way down the roof. Once on the run-in to the drop i had already committed so i aimed straight and hoped for the best.... turned out well.

NEW VIDEO

Andy was kind enough to invite us all round to his backyard jumps for a riding/filming session. The jumps were rock solid, and the weather was about 35.
As you will see in the footage everyone was throwing down!

Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment.

Como Park gap

Its been many years in progress, but the beast has finally been conquered.

Myself, Dylan Warren, a support team and camera crew headed down to the como park gap in south yarra. The gap is around 12 meters long with a 2.5 meter step down. Even worse, nobody else had ever tried it, so getting the speed right, creating the right kind of take off ramp, and loads of other variables would mean the difference between landing clean and claiming, or blowing out both of your knees.

Heres a few sneak preview pictures:

MORE PICTURES COMMING AND ALSO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THE VIDEO!!

Angelsea

Went on down to Angelsea dirtpark with a few dudes. The park is amazing for a public facility, and has toilets a sheltered area and the track is very well looked after. i was impressed.
Jimmy reynolds took this photo with his new fish eye lens.

I would recommend this place to ride for anyone of any Mountainboarding ability. Eventually I will organise a competition here I think.
